Fracture & Trauma-Every fracture is a unique fracture which has to be managed based on Fracture pattern, patients demand and expectations. Sometimes fracture in same patients may also have to be managed differently.Like this patient with fracture of Left and Rt Ankle was managed differently. While the fracture on the left side was managed by surgery as it was very displaced, the fracture on the Lt side was treated in plaster cast as it was undisplaced. Both Fractures went to heal and gave good results. The smile on the patient’s face says it all.

Recurrent or repeated dislocation of the Shoulder is seen in young active persons due to trauma while sports or fall.
Treatment – The treatment is Arthroscopic Bankart Repair which is a keyhole surgical procedure with excellent results. But if there is bone loss in the extreme situation then open surgical procedure is needed ( Latarjet). But even open surgical procedure doesn’t causes any restriction of movement and patient can perform all strenuous activities and sports like the case showed above.

When I explain a patient about the loss of Cartilage and Arthritis they’re at a loss and find it difficult to imagine or visualise the problem. This picture explains the problem in a simple way.
The above picture shows the white glistening Cartilage at the end of Bone responsible for smooth function. The picture down shows that there is loss of Cartilage with exposed bone. That’s what happens in Osteoarthritis. The smooth glistening Cartilage is destroyed due to wear and tear leading to pain, stiffness, difficulty in walking and later on deformity.

Arthroscopic ACL reconstruction ( Knee Arthroscopy)-Ligament injuries of Knee are commonly seen in young active persons caused due to sports trauma or road accidents. Patients complain of Instability, locking, pain while performing sports activities or even on doing daily tasks. Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) is the commonest ligament of the knee joint which gets injured.
Treatment is essential not just for the present disability but also to prevent further secondary damage and progression to arthritis. Treatment – ACL tear in young symptomatic patients are treated by Arthroscopic ACL reconstruction. This is a biological procedures where natural ACL is reconstructed. Once the ligament heals there is no restriction on any activity and patient can go back to even sports and vigorous activities
